Research and development:
- Piloted and assisted in the implementation of the protocols and procedures for the CUBE project for the wireless recording of neural activity from a HS36 head stage (Neuralynx, Inc., Bozeman, Montana, USA).
- Designed thermoplastic cover required for successful recording of wireless neural activity.
- Operate the equipment used for electrophysiology and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Extremely comfortable with neural data collection (Neuralyx and Alpha Omega), data entry, data processing/ analysis with a good knowledge of Matlab programing, and eye-tracking (IVIEW).
- Assist in the surgical preparation and procedures required for the research projects.
- Oversee post-operative CT and MR scanning protocols.
- Able to perform high level research and scientific monitoring related to ongoing research projects.
Management duties:
- Responsible for the training of new lab members and the scheduling of lab personnel assigned to each project and monitoring to ensure successful project advancements are being made.
- Handling and training of research subjects (11 years of experience) critical for the research projects.
- Coordinate surgical equipment and timeline for surgical procedures with veterinary, researchers and technicians.
- Oversee adherence to the research protocol and ethics and maintain detailed records of procedures and data on a daily basis.
Administrative duties:
- Reconciliation of grant purchases on a monthly and yearly schedule.
- Purchasing and receiving laboratory and office supplies and reviewing expenditures to ensure they are allocated to the correct projects.
- Responsible for all administrative tasks, such as procurement services, weekly meetings, agendas.
